Privacy Policy
This policy explains what BetterRoom collects, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the BetterRoom iOS application and its supporting services. BetterRoom is an AI-assisted visualization tool. It is not an architectural, engineering, safety, or construction service.
2. Information we process
Account information
When you use Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, we receive an account identifier and, depending on your choices and the provider response, your name and email address. Firebase Authentication processes this information so we can create and secure your BetterRoom account.
Room content
We process the room photographs you choose or capture, generated room images, room names, selected room types and styles, and the text instructions you enter. Original and generated images are stored privately in Firebase Storage under your account identifier. Project and revision records are stored in Cloud Firestore.
AI processing and consent
Before the first design or refinement, BetterRoom asks for your permission to send the selected input image and your instruction through an authenticated Firebase backend to OpenAI. If you decline or later turn off AI photo processing in Settings, that content is not sent. OpenAI processes permitted content only to generate the result you request. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models by default and that abuse-monitoring logs may retain customer content for up to 30 days, unless different approved data controls apply or longer retention is required for safety or legal reasons.
Purchases and credits
Apple processes payments. BetterRoom does not receive your payment-card details. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription records, product identifiers, entitlement information, and the BetterRoom account identifier to validate purchases, restore access, prevent fraud, and administer AI credits.
Security and technical information
Firebase App Check and Apple App Attest process app and device integrity assertions to protect the service from abuse. Firebase and Google Cloud may process request metadata such as app version, operating system, SDK information, IP address, and function invocation metadata for security, reliability, and service operation.
3. How we use information
- Authenticate your account and keep your rooms private.
- Create and refine the room designs you request.
- Store and synchronize your original room and version history.
- Validate purchases, restore entitlements, and administer credits.
- Prevent fraud, rate-limit abuse, maintain security, and troubleshoot service failures.
BetterRoom does not sell personal information and does not use your room content for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
4. Service providers
BetterRoom relies on Apple and Google for sign-in, Firebase and Google Cloud for authentication and app infrastructure, OpenAI for AI image generation, RevenueCat for purchase and entitlement management, and Apple for App Store payments. Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy commitments.
5. Retention and deletion
Room projects and account records are retained while your BetterRoom account remains active so that your rooms and credits can remain available across sessions. When account deletion is completed, BetterRoom deletes the associated Firebase Authentication account, room and revision records, and stored room images, except for transaction, security, fraud-prevention, backup, or legal records that must be retained for a limited period. Third-party providers may retain limited records under their own legal and security obligations.
6. Your choices
You choose which photo to upload and what instruction to submit. You can decline camera or photo-library access, decline or withdraw AI-processing permission, sign out, and permanently delete your account from Settings. Subscription cancellation is managed through your Apple Account subscription settings.
7. Children
BetterRoom is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. International processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, they use contractual and organizational safeguards for international transfers.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as BetterRoom changes. The updated date at the top of this page identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through the app or this page where appropriate.
